Had a really nice tour around the village and a great pottery workshop today at Dawa Pottery. Also the kids loved to do it, we did it today and lucky we are staying a couple of days, so we can bring our creations with us back to holland.Posted on Google DannyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Today my brother and I got lost in Lombok and ended up stopping outside of Dawa Pottery where we were greeted by Dien who we later learned is continuing his father’s pottery business, supporting and supported by the local community of pottery makers. We were welcomed into homes and given a personal tour of the community and were able to see the entire creation process from raw clay processing to making of small and very large pieces. We drank Lombok coffee and were gifted many “milky fruit” from a tree Dien’s father planted many years ago. This chance encounter and connection has been our highlight of visiting this beautiful island, and we are incredibly grateful for Dien and his brother Rull’s time, storytelling and kindness. Along with all community members who shared their processes and smiles along this beautiful journey. If we had more time I would have loved to attend a traditional pottery making class, but happy to have a purpose to return next time. Thank you Dien, Rull and entire community who greeted us, welcomed us and shared their culture with us.Posted on Google William DuinkerkenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Today we had a wonderful experience at the pottery! Din and his team were so kind to me, my wife and my kids. He told us about the history of the company, showed us how the products are made and we even did a workshop to make our own products! If you are looking for real craftsmanship in a local village and want to experience how the best handmade ceramics are made, please visit Lombok Sasak Pottery!
